I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
