Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
